A New Season

A new season of training is upon us! Every January starts fresh for us as we begin at mile 1 and make our way to 26.2. Looking around at the kick-off runs on January 21st/22nd I was amazed and pleased to see so many returning runners mixed in with the new, and to see our veterans not only hugging those they’d spent the past year running side by side with, but actively welcoming new faces into our training family.

We’ve got runners on all levels hitting the streets together: lightning fast, slow and steady, first timer, marathon maniac, half fanatic, 10K enthusiast, male, female, animal, senior citizen, 20something, college student, right handed, left handed, flat footed. The diversity of our program is comical, but also inspiring. People who might never have connected with each other in any other capacity supporting each other, enjoying each other, and working towards a common goal.

Week 1 was a blast, and halfway through week 2 I couldn’t be more excited about heading to track tonight in San Francisco. Better start brainstorming waterfall categories…

Happy Running,

About Erin

Erin joined The SF Marathon/Run365 team in October 2010 to coordinate the training program. A swimmer in her youth, she converted to running after college and is thankful to be able to work and run with an incredible group of runners (Go Run365!). A semi-recent transplant to the Bay Area, she is thrilled with the multitude of running routes and races to participate in all year. Next Up on the schedule: Oakland Half, Big Sur Marathon, and Wildflower Triathalon. When not running, Erin enjoys biking, yoga, skiing, reading, climbing trees & mountains, traveling, and brussel sprouts.
